The International Clinical Microsystem Festival hosted by Region Jönköping, Sweden, provides a shared space for colleagues improving health & social care based on applied clinical microsystem theory. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival took place virtually over three days.
The theme of this year’s festival was SynEnergy. IEHSS Executive Director, Marjorie M. Godfrey PhD, MS, BSN, FAAN, presented a keynote entitled “Enhancing Communications and Relationships to Lead to a More Joyful Workplace in a Time Like This.” In her keynote, Marjorie addressed the challenges that professionals have faced over the past few years, including moral distress, life transitions and compassion fatigue. Marjorie discussed the importance of investing in professionals as healthcare’s most valuable asset and how relational coordination can help to improve communication and relationships.
In the Information and Technology session, Dr. Godfrey and Randy Messier, MT, MSA, PCMH CCE, IEHSS Director of Team Coaching, discussed ImproveAppTM, a web-based app that provides easy guidance, support and tracking to individuals and teams to enhance the improvement experience using a Smart Phone, Tablet or a computer.
